On My Mind - 006

Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate as much Turkey as you possibly could. I know I did. This week was a good week for inspiration. Check out what caught my eye!

1. MUSIC VIDEO

Every time OK GO puts out a new video I'm always in shock... This one might be the most amazing video yet. I had to watch this a least 5 times to wrap my head around what was happening in camera. I still don't think I understand.

Be sure to check out the BTS footage as well. Just as entertaining as the music video itself.

2. FILM

This morning I drove to a matinee of Arrival (BTW matinee is the best time to watch a film). I loved this movie! It was everything I wanted and more. The story, acting, cinematography. Spot on.

3. TRAILER

Really excited to see Scorsese's new film Silence. Looks like quite a ride.

4. BLOG POST

Tag free Reference Library? Yes, TAG FREE. With Google Photos you can upload all your reference photos and Google will search the images just based on the image itself. No tags required ;)

5. YOUTUBE VIDEO

Simon Cade has really been stepping up his Youtube game. His videos always make me take a step back and really think about how I shoot.

On My Mind - 001

Hi everyone! I’m going to be trying something a bit different from now on (call it a posterity thing?). Every Friday, I’ll be gathering together my inspirations from the week. Well, at least my top five. I’ll try to cover everything from books I’m reading, to films I’ve watched, podcasts I’ve listened to, or even a funny YouTube video.

I’ll try to get a post up every Friday around noon, so my hope is to either spark some discussion or maybe inspire you to check out something new for yourself. I’d love to know what your own inspirations were throughout the week, too. Thanks for checking in - I’m excited to share!

1. FILM

This is a wonderful film from Frontline PBS about the history of our presidential candidates. I learned a lot from the film. It really shows you where each of their drive comes from.

2. SHORT / COMMERCIAL

My co-worker Michael Schmalzried showed me this beautiful short/commercial for Volvo.

3. PODCAST

Probably my new favorite podcast. The Album Club takes classic Rock/Punk albums and dissects them track by track. In this episode, they dive into one of the best Rock albums of all time "Appetite for Destruction"

4. BOOK

My church small group just started this book and I love it. This book is broken up into 40 days, a small chapter each day discussing your purpose. This is a wonderful book everyone should read at least once.

5. MUSIC

A friend of mine turned me on to this guy. Really great old school country.
